ryland acree
Ryland Acree III is a teacher, choreographer, and international performing artist. Originally from Floyd, Virginia, Ryland began his dance education at the age of nine, going on to train with instructors such as Peter Boal, Olivier Muñoz, Le Yin, Alexei Kremnev, Michele Plescia, and Sandra Meythaler. His early dedication and talent earned him full scholarships to attend summer intensives at prestigious institutions including Boston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater, and Pacific Northwest Ballet, where he graduated from their Professional Division.
Throughout his career, Ryland has performed with companies such as the Oklahoma City Ballet, Alberta Ballet, and Ballet San Antonio. His repertoire includes works by renowned choreographers such as Gerald Arpino, Septime Webre, Edwaard Liang, Jessica Lang, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Stephen Mills, Bruce Wells, Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye, Brian Enos, Val Caniparoli, Twyla Tharp, and George Balanchine.
As a choreographer, he has created new works for professional ballet companies, digital media, museum programing, fundraising events, competition solos, and ensembles. He was invited to represent the United States in the prestigious USA International Ballet Competition XII, globally recognized as the “Olympics of ballet”.
Ryland's passion for education was ignited during his participation in the S.T.E.P.S. outreach program at Orlando Ballet under the guidance of Olivier Muñoz and Gonzalo Espinoza. While studying at Pacific Northwest Ballet, he served as a teaching assistant for the Dance Chance men's division class under Kiyon Gaines. He later went on to teach for the School of Ballet San Antonio, Oklahoma City Ballet's Yvonne Chouteau School, and to serve as School Director for Chattanooga Ballet. He is now the Events Coordinator for Arts Council Oklahoma City.
alejandro gonazalez
Alejandro Gonzalez is a Venezuelan principal dancer with Oklahoma City Ballet, He trained at Houston Ballet Academy and Fundación Gustavo Franklin Escuela Ballet-arte. He has received a Gold Medal at the CIBC Concurso Internacional de Ballet Clasico and was a semi-finalist at the USIBC International Ballet Competition.
His performance experience includes lead roles in "Peter Pan" (Peter), "Hamlet" (Hamlet), and "Lady of the Camellias" (Armand), as well as significant roles in "Swan Lake" (Prince Siegfried), "Sleeping Beauty" (Pas de trois), and "Petite Mort" (2nd Pas de deux). He has also performed in works by choreographers such as Ryan Nye, Stephanie Martinez, Alexander Ekman, Jerome Robbins, Stephen Mills, Gerald Arpino, Val Caniparoli, Marius Petipa, Robert Mills, Ben Stevenson, Jessica Lang, Nicolo Fonte, Michael Pink, Cayetano Soto, August Bournonville, Septime Webre, Jiri Kylian, Helen Pickett, and Stanton Welch.
Gonzalez also has choreography experience, with pieces like "AWAY FROM 5" (Houston Ballet Academy 2016), "Don't Wanna Fight" (RACE Dance Collective 2025, Central Oklahoma Ballet Theater 2022), "The Band" (OKCBallet "Future Voices" 2023), and "Dos Gardenias para ti" (Voices of Arts X Skylar Campbell Collective 2025).
He has teaching experience at the Oklahoma City Ballet School Yvonne Chouteau Faculty (2022-current), RACE Dance Collective (Contemporary and Ballet Instructor, 2024-current), Dance Phase (Ballet Instructor), and Dove Dance (Ballet Instructor).
Kally jones
Kally Jones is a Tulsa based artist who truly encompasses the term Renaissance Woman. She graduated from RSU with her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Rogers State University and since then has worked as an independent contractor doing portrait work, murals, gallery installations, photography, and a dance instructor/ choreographer. She performed as both a Lead dancer for Legacy Professional Dance Productions, and a member of their Hop Hop Crew for many years. As a choreographer she has won numerous awards and recognition. Recently, she has collaborated with the Philbrook Art Museum to merge the performing arts and the fine arts, through her movement based class that teaches artists the importance of their intuition. Recently she has stepped down as a full time teacher at Attitudes Dance Studio of 10+ years and is now pursuing more performance and choreographic opportunities
julianna straughn
Jules Straughn is a choreographer, dance filmmaker, performer, and photographer based in Oklahoma. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma and an A.A. in Music Theatre from Rose State College.
Jules has choreographed, taught, and directed movement for a wide range of organizations, including the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma Christian University, Rose State College, INTENT, Life.Church, and various community theaters, dance studios, and high schools. Her body of work includes more than a dozen dance films, produced both independently and in collaboration with companies such as Perpetual Motion and RACE Academy. As a performer, she has appeared in Butter and the Genre’s music video So Blue So Cool (which she also choreographed), the Oklahoma Lottery commercial The Thrill (dir. Mark Steele), Cube of Light(chor. Hui Cha Poos), The Waving Wheat Trilogy (dir. Lance McDaniel), and RACE’s Hip Hop Nutcracker (dir. LaKeysta Goree), in addition to numerous musical theatre, theatre, and dance productions.
Her choreography has been featured at the American College Dance Association conferences, and her choreography for Pippin at Deer Creek High School contributed to the cast’s Kelli O’Hara Award nomination for “Best Ensemble.” Additional honors include multiple academic and artistic scholarships, a 4.0 collegiate GPA, and recognition as a Chickasaw Nation Scholar. She is also a certified American Barre Technique instructor.
Jules integrates theatricality, research, and faith into her creative process. Her choreography explores fundamental human experiences through imagination and storytelling, striving to create a visceral connection that invites transformation and healing for both dancers and audiences alike.
z taylor
Z Taylor is an Oklahoma City-based choreographer, performer, researcher, and educator. They will graduate with a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma this spring.
At UCO, Z was an active choreographer, creating work for student showcases and senior capstone concerts. They were a three-year member of Kaleidoscope Dance Company, performing works by artists such as Mike Esperanza, Alexandra Beller, Andrew Wass, and Alexander Olivieri.
In 2025, Z received UCO’s Outstanding Choreographer Award and was awarded a Research, Creative, and Scholarly Activities Grant, presenting work at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, Transformative Learning Conference, and Oklahoma Research Day.
Their piece Flow and Stagnation was selected for international performance at Marameo in Berlin. While in Europe, they also performed in "Falling Forward" in Konstanz, Germany.
Z teaches at Aspiring Attitudes Dance Studio, where they create empowering spaces for dancers of all abilities. Their choreography has been featured by OKC Ballet’s Dance Day, the Oklahoma Adaptive Sports Association, Down Syndrome Festival, and the Oklahoma State Fair Accessibility Expo with Aspiring Attitudes.
Recently, Z has been exploring immersive and interdisciplinary performance opportunities, collaborating with local artists through projects like Factory Obscura’s "Future of Sound", Oklahoma Visual Art Coalition's MOMENTUM, and Make Oklahoma Weirder’s "Weirder Wednesday" series.
